Fundraising at MES

The MES community participates in many fundraising programs that fund needed equipment and programming for our students. We thank everyone who pitches in to help with these efforts.

A list of fundraising opportunities follows.

Adventure Fest and Run for the Arts

Adventure Fest is a fall festival, silent gift basket auction and one-mile fun run that takes place in the fall. The 2018-19 event will be held on November 10 at the school. The fun run is followed by exciting games, entertainment, food, and activities for children and families.

Money raised at Adventure Fest funds many things at MES, including the Teacher Mini Grant program, a highly successful tutoring program and new classroom technology. Adventure Fest funds also support our successful afterschool Kind Kids Club, Art in the Classroom, Cultural Arts Day, the Technology Classroom and Professional Development for staff.  The PTA also funds three software programs for students to use at home: IXL math, Brain Pop and Raz Kids Reading.

To sponsor the event, please download this form and send it to school with your child.

For more information about Adventure Fest or ways you or your business can support the event, please email our vice president of fundraising.

Box Tops

Since 2001, MES has earned more than $24,000 just by collecting those little Box Tops from product packaging. Each Box Top earns MES 10 cents. It may not sound like much, but it really adds up! We usually earn $1,000 each school year through Box Top collections.

Clipping Box Tops is easy! You can get your kids involved too! Send Box Tops to school with your child or place them in a collection bin the next time you visit school. Collection bins are located in each grades' hallway.

Here are some things to remember:

  • If you put Box Tops on a collection sheet or a blank sheet of paper, put either 10, 25 or 50 on a page.
  • Don't glue Bonus Certificates to the collection sheets. (We have to submit those separately.)
  • Box Tops can be submitted in a plastic baggie or envelope.
  • Put your child's name and teacher on the baggie or sheet. Sometimes we give prizes to classes that go above and beyond!
  • Please don't submit expired Box Tops.
  • Box Tops don't have to be trimmed, but it's helpful.

Community Cash for Schools

Each UPC label from Community Coffee products earns MES money from the company's education fund. Ask friends or family who have CC's coffee delivered to their businesses to save the UPCs from the commercial packaging as well. Those are worth even more!

Labels should be placed in a plastic baggie or envelope labeled with your student's name and teacher.  They can be put in the Box Tops for Education bins located in each grades' hallway.

Funding Factory

Since 1997, schools, charities, churches, community groups, and clubs in the continental United States have collectively earned more than $35 million in cash and rewards through FundingFactory's 100% free fundraising-thru-recycling program.

Together, FundingFactory and its participants have made a notable impact on the environment by keeping 31 million pounds of cartridges and small electronics out of landfills, simply by collecting used inkjet and toner cartridges, cell phones, MP3 players, digital cameras, GPS devices, headsets, and laptops.
